Announcement for the International Workers' May Day

MIGRANTS, REFUGEES AND LOCALS

WE DEMONSTRATE ON WORKERS’ MAY DAY

Hundreds of thousands of people around the world take to the streets every year on Workers’ May Day against exploitation, for better wages, fewer working hours, improved working conditions, social security, labor rights, for workers’ emancipation and social liberation.

At the same time, all oppressed peoples of the world struggle for peace and solidarity among nations, so that they no longer serve as cannon fodder for the magnates of wealth, who compete to control regions, energy sources, transport routes, and markets, multiplying profits stained with blood.

This year in our country, refugees, migrants, and local workers, along with the youth and the poor, will demonstrate united in an independent, class-based May Day, demanding that we do not live as slaves. With the internationalist May 1st as our milestone and guide, we will declare our determination to struggle and to claim the wealth we produce and the world that belongs to us. We will overturn the measures imposed on us by capital, the EU, and their subordinate governments.

We will resist their war economy, which deprives resources from education, healthcare, and social protection, redirecting them toward the war industry and technological giants that provide war expertise. An economy that drains the lifeblood of peoples only to drown them in blood.

This year, in Greece, locals stand together with the refugees and migrants who live here, against fascist and racist forces. Locals, migrants, and refugees united as one fist, fight with class solidarity against the xenophobic and pro-war policies of the EU and governments, demanding:

· An immediate end to wars, imperialist interventions, and the criminal attacks of the West in the countries of West Asia and Africa that generate death and displacement. An end to the colonial plans of the USA, NATO, the EU, and the Zionists. No participation of Greece in war operations. Stop the genocide in Palestine NOW. Freedom for the unconquered Palestinian people! Stop the intervention of Zionists and American imperialists in Iran. Immediate withdrawal of Zionist invaders from Lebanon. Let the resistance of the peoples in West Asia prevail.

· Protection of refugees, granting asylum to all without rejections or bureaucratic delays. Open Europe’s borders to refugees, allowing free movement between countries. Stop deportations, deadly pushbacks, and detention. Shut down the detention camps.

· Immediate legalization of all migrants without terms or conditions. Simplify and extend the timeframes for obtaining residence and work permits in Greece, without the unacceptable fees imposed on migrants.

· Decent living conditions, access to food, and equal rights at work, in education, and in healthcare for all. No to the isolation and ghettoization of refugees and migrants. Housing for refugees in homes within our cities and neighborhoods.

· Migrants are part of the working class! Equal pay for equal work, equal labor and pension rights for all. No to undeclared, uninsured labor, to the hostage-like dependence of migrants on employers, and to the terror imposed by capital. Open up trade unions with the registration, equal participation, and representation of migrants (with or without papers).

· Let us all live together in a world of peace, friendship, and solidarity among peoples, without discrimination and without the exploitation of human beings by human beings.
