Athens, April 27, 2026
We invite you to a press conference to be held on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at 12:00, at the offices of the Athens Bar Association (D.S.A.), 60 Acadimias St., 3rd floor, on the occasion of the founding of the Internationalist Movement of Solidarity and Struggle for the Rights of Refugees and Migrants, “Struggle Without Borders.”
The aim of the Movement is to develop common struggles with refugee and migrant workers for the defense of their rights, freedoms, and demands, at a time when attacks against them in our country are steadily intensifying.
The Internationalist Movement “Struggle Without Borders” has been formed on the basis of agreed positions and a framework of operation with movement-oriented characteristics, featuring regular, democratic, and collective functioning, with the participation of individuals acting on an equal basis, through assemblies and an open coordinating body. It brings together locals, migrants, refugees, members of labor unions and workers from various sectors, such as teachers, doctors, lawyers, and journalists.
The Movement seeks coordination and joint action with other related grassroots collectives and class-oriented unions, on the basis of solidarity and voluntary active participation.
As decided at its founding assembly, the Movement will intensify its efforts to defend the right to asylum and the rights of refugees and migrants, without exceptions. At the same time, it will oppose the anti-immigrant and anti-refugee, deeply racist policies of the government and the EU, which undermine these rights, as well as the deadly wars and rivalries that spread death, poverty, and displacement.
Within this framework, we aim to build a common struggle of locals, refugees, and migrants against war, exploitation, racism, nationalism, and xenophobia.
We invite you to attend the press conference and contribute to promoting our positions.
We look forward to seeing you.
